How to backup and restore the AppLoader Controller data

Please read the guidelines below and follow the instructions to backup and restore the AppLoader Controller data.

NOTE: It is important that both machines (old and new) have the same version of AppLoader installed. Contact Automai Support to request the installation file for the version you need.

  1. Log into the machine where the Controller is installed and you want to back up the data.
  2. Launch Task Manager and open the Services tab.
  3. Look for the three AppLoader services, right click on each of them and click Stop.
  4. After stopping all 3 services, go to the “…\NrgGlobal or Automai\AppLoader” folder and save the “data” and "archives" folders.
  5. Go to the “…\NrgGlobal or Automai\AppLoader\apps” folder and save the "screenshots”, “scenariostore” and "timelines" folders.
  6. Put all 5 folders in a zip file.
  7. Copy the zip file.
  8. Log into the new machine where AppLoader Controller is installed.
  9. Paste the zip file into a location of your choosing and unzip the contents.
  10. Launch Task Manager and open the Services tab
  11. Look for the three AppLoader services, right click on each of them and click Stop.​
  12. After stopping all 3 services, go to the following folder: “…\NrgGlobal or Automai\AppLoader”.
  13. Look for the “data” folder and rename it. (i.e. data_local)
  14. Copy the backed-up “data” folder and paste it to this location.
  15. Repeat this process for the "archives" folder as well.
  16. Next, go to this folder: “…\NrgGlobal or Automai\AppLoader\apps”.
  17. Look for the “screenshots” folder and rename it. (i.e. screenshots_local)​.
  18. Copy the backed-up “screenshots” folder and paste it to this location.
  19. Repeat steps 16, 17 and 18 for the “scenariostore” and "timelines" folders​.
  20. When you are done with renaming and copying the folders, start the 3 AppLoader services.​
  21. Launch the AppLoader Controller and login to the application.

NOTE: You should use the same login credentials that you were using for the previous Controller.
