How to configure Remote Desktop Services for Injector?

AppLoader works with Remote Desktop Services (RDS), known as Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008 and earlier, from Microsoft to generate multiple users simultaneously interacting with an application from one Windows Server.

For guidance on installing and configuring Remote Desktop Services on your Windows Server, please do the following:

Allow Remote Connections

Injectors require that Remote Desktop Connections be allowed. Failure to enable this feature on will prevent rUsers from starting and logging into Windows Server.

1. Open "Server Manager"

2. Click "Local Server" in the pane on the left

3. If not already enabled, set Remote Desktop to “Enabled” by clicking on it and selecting "Allow remote connections to this computer".

4. Click "Apply" and "OK".

Enable Remote Desktop Services

In order for multiple user accounts to login simultaneously on the Injector server, Remote Desktop Services must be enabled. Remote Desktop Services provides a 120-day grace period during which no license server is required. During this grace period, your server can accept connections from unlicensed clients without contacting a license server.

To enable Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, complete the following steps on your Injector server:

1. Open "Server Manager"

2. Click "Roles and Features" section. The "Add Roles and Features Wizard" opens.

3. Click Next.

4. Select "Role-based or feature-based installation" and then click "Next".

5. Select "Select a server from the server pool" and then click "Next".

6. Scroll down, check "Remote Desktop Services" checkbox and then click "Next".

7. Make sure .NET Framework 4.5 Features is installed, if not, check the ".NET Framework 4.5 Features" or ".NET Framework 4.6 Features" checkbox and then click "Next".

8. The “Remote Desktop Services” window appears. Click Next.

9. The “Select role services” window appears.

10. Check “Remote Desktop Licensing” checkbox and click “Add Features”.

11. Check "Remote Desktop Session Host" checkbox, click “Add Features” and then click "Next".

12. Click Install.

13. When the install completes, close the window.

Now just reboot the Injector server for the changes to take effect.
