How to set up INJrdpManager to manage Injectors sessions?

When running a large test in multiple Injectors, you may need to make sure the Microsoft RDP sessions of Injectors are active so that the rUserManager windows containing the users' sessions stay open during the test execution. For this purpose, you can use Injector RDP Manager. INJrdpManager is an RDP Manager tool that houses all of the Injectors sessions in a single window. This way you can monitor Injectors and keep the sessions active. This article will walk you through the steps to set up INJrdpManager.

Create a connection file in INJrdpManager

Please follow the steps listed below:

  1. Connect to the machine where AppLoader Controller is installed.
  2. Go to “…\Automai\AppLoader\apps\install” folder.
  3. Launch the INJrdpManager.exe.
  4. Open File menu and click “New Connection File”.

6. Put a name for the connection file ([filename].srdp) and click "Save". By default, it is saved under "...\Automai\AppLoader\apps\install" folder.

7. Once the file is saved, the application will launch RDP sessions to any Injector server specified in the connection file.

The Injector RDP manager logs into all the Injectors using preset credentials, so the Injector process should run automatically in each Injector server once a user is logged in.

When Injectors machines are turned off, the INJrdpManager will lose the connection and it will try to connect to the server every 30 seconds.

Edit a connection file in INJrdpManager

There are 2 ways to edit the connection file:

I)

  1. If the connection file is open inside the INJrdpManager, you can easily go to File menu and click “Edit Connection File”.
  2. Make the necessary changes and click "Save".
  3. The INJrdpManager will launch Injectors RDP sessions with new changes specified in the connection file.

II)

  1. Go to the location where the connection file is saved.
    i.e. "...\Automai\AppLoader\apps\install"
  2. Right click on [filename].srdp file and open it with a Text Editor app such as Notepad or Notepad++.
  3. Make the necessary changes, save the file and close it.
  4. Launch the INJrdpManager.exe, go to File menu and click “Open Connection File”.
  5. Select the desired connection file and click "Open".
  6. The INJrdpManager will launch Injectors RDP sessions with new changes specified in the connection file.

Keep Injectors sessions active in INJrdpManager

To keep the RDP sessions active, try the following steps:

  1. Connect to the machine and go to the location where INJrdpManager is placed.
    i.e. "...\Automai\AppLoader\apps\install"
  2. Make sure INJrdpManager is closed.
  3. Open INJrdpManager.conf file and look for these two lines:
// Key to be sent to each session. default value is the shift key (16)
    //keepalivekey=44
// Time delay to send the key
    //keepaliveseconds=50

4. Uncomment the "//keepalivekey=44" and "//keepaliveseconds=50" lines by removing the // from the beginning.

This will send the Print Scr key to the sessions every 50 sec to keep them active.

*You may use any other keys than the default one.

5. Save the file and close it.

6. Launch INJrdpManager and connect to Injectors.
