How can I use LDAP authentication to login to AppLoader Controller?

LDAP Configuration

1. To configure the LDAP settings, log in to the Controller as a user within the 'Administrators' group to access the Settings menu.

2. Click Global Options and navigate to "LDAP Configuration" section.

3. Enter the values for the settings, as described below.

  • Domain: The domain name of your directory server. For example: automaidc
  • Full server address: The host name of your directory server. ldap://servername.domain.com

For example: ldap://ADServerName.automaidc.com

  • Port number: The port on which your LDAP server is listening. Examples:

389 (default)

636 (for SSL)

Update this value if LDAP is configured with a different port number.

  • Use SSL: Select "Yes" if the connection to the directory server is an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) connection. Default LDAP connection does not use SSL.

4. Once all entries are complete, click Submit. The services will get restarted and you will be logged out.

Add Domain Users to AppLoader Controller Users

To create a domain user, log in to the Controller as a user within the 'Administrators' group to access the Settings menu.

1. Click Users. The “Users” page opens in a new window.

2. Click Add New User at the top of the page. The "User Form” opens.

3. Enter the values for the settings, as described below.

  • Domain User: Select Yes to define the user account as a domain user.
  • Login: Specify the username that is defined in the directory server. For example: dcuser
  • Full Name: Specify the full name of the user.
  • User Group: Select from the drop-down list (Administrators – full access; all others – selected access)
  • Profile: Select a profile for this user.
  • Email Address: Provide an email address for this user.
  • User Timezone: Set a timezone for the user. The default timezone is UTC.
  • Active: Select status of user account. Setting this parameter to “No” prevents user from logging into their account.

4. Click Submit to add the user.

Now you can use the domain user account to log into the application.

For example:

Username: dcuser

Password: ******** [domain user password that is set in the directory server.]
