The SSrdpManager is another option that is offered by AppsWatch to monitor ScenarioStations. SSrdp Manager allows users to create RDP connections to one or all the ScenarioStations. Through these connections the user can create Scenarios and monitor the ScenarioStations.
Once you install AppsWatch, SSrdpManager will also be installed. You can find it in the AppsWatch’s folder in program menu.
If it is not installed, you can access to it by the following steps:
To download the .EXE file click on "Open Stations Manager" from the Top Menu in the “Applications” section.
There will be a prompt to download smgrupdate.exe
Click ‘Save File’
This shortcut will be saved onto the Desktop.
Clicking on it, will open the AppsWatch connections folder. Click on SSrdpManager.
The SSrdpManager will open.
To create a connection file, click “Create a connection file”
Enter a File Name and click “Save”
A new connection form will open;
Connection Name: Enter a name for the connection.
Username: This will be used to log into the Server
Password: This is the password that will be used to log in to the server.
IP address/Hostname: Same as the IP/Host where the ScenarioStation is installed
Domain: Domain of the Server
Desktop Size: This is the resolution of the connection
Color Depth: The color depth should be set to the same value as
Reconnect after (seconds): if disconnected, this is the amount of time it will wait before reconnecting.
Font Smoothing: Adjusts font
Send ‘Enter’ Key: Sends a function key ‘Enter’ command
Once all the fields are filled out click “Save”. The connection will start.
Note: "SSrdpManager" replicates last line when adding new connections.
To open a connection file, click “Open a connection file”
Select the appropriate file and click “Open”. The connection will start.
To open a connection file, click “Edit connection file”
The connection form will open;
When you are done editing, click “Save” to make the changes.
To view status of each user/session, Click “Filter sessions”
The RDP connection was established successfully and SStation is running.
The RDP connection was established successfully and SStation is not running.
The RDP connection was established successfully; however, SSrdpManager could not recognize the status of SStation whether it is running or not.
The RDP connection was not established successfully.
Note: The SStation is robot that executes and runs tests configured in the Base.
To search user/session, click “Search”
Click “Tile Widnows” in the “Rearrange windows” menu to minimize the individual user/session and return to the default SSrdpManager view;
To view log files, click “Open log file”
To view list of users/sessions, click “Show list”
To view user/session in fullscreen mode, click “Fullscreen on/off”
To disconnect user/session, right click on the user/session and click “Disconnect [user]”
Creating SSrdp Connections Using a CSV File
Multiple RDP connections can be added to the SSrdpManager using a CSV file. This facilitates creating connections to all of the ScenarioStations. Keeping the connections accessible via CSV file can also facilitate monitoring from multiple locations because all of the information for the ScenarioStations is transferable as a CSV file.
To get started, click “Create a connection file”
Enter a File Name and click “Save”
This will create a new .srdp file. Click on ‘Upload CSV’
From Windows Explorer search for the CSV file for the ScenarioStation connections. Select it and click “Open”
The CSV file should contain the following column headers;
Connection Name , Username, Password, IP/Hostname, Domain, Desktop Size, Color Depth, Reconnect after (seconds), Schedule Interval (minutes), Font Smoothing , Send ‘Enter’ Key
The connections will show in the form.
Save the form and the ScenarioStations will connect.
